We are very excited to advertise Dalerie Patterson's blog to our loyal customers. Dalerie is a great exponent of Genesis Heat Set Oils and provides a very informative and personal perspective on using Genesis Heat Set Oils. A great read for those beginning with Genesis and those who would like to improve their knowledge of the product.
During the length of time I have been writing
features
for Artists' Palette magazine hundreds of readers have contacted me by
email, letter or
even personally on the phone. Most
want
clarification with painting problems, some have queries and others just
want to
discuss their journey in art. It
was
time consuming but I enjoyed interacting with the artists here and some
from
overseas. Even
though I am no longer
contributing to Artists' Palette it will be beneficial to continue the
dialogue. Many
artists tell me that they
feel isolated, distanced from other artists and unable to obtain
support from
an experienced tutor. So
I have decided
to set up a blog where artists can visit to ask questions, read my
answers or post
their “Handy Hints”.
This blog will
continue to be both helpful and a source of instruction to both the
contributors and those who log on to “catch the comments”. Just press control and
click on the link with
your mouse: http://daleriepatterson.wordpress.com/ When using Genesis paints you don't need to constantly wash your brushes. The container featured below is an easy way to store the brushes you are using for your current project so they don't touch each other and 'muddy' your colours. Thanks Dalerie Patterson for letting us photograph this great idea.
They are easy to make - just get any plastic container and cut as many slots as you wish. You need to make sure you leave enough space around each one so the brushes don't touch. Then put some gravel or sand or pebbles in the container and you are ready to go! Dalerie drilled four small holes at the end of each slot before cutting the slots to prevent the lid from tearing. |
